i want to upgrade my internal sata hard drive FROM 80 GB to GB?

i presently have 80 GB internal sata hard drive.i want to upgrade it to 500 GB. i have

Intel(R) D CPU GHz and 2GB of RAM.can i do so

Update:

i have windows xp service pack 3. i have nvidia GB graphics card.can i upgrade my internal hard drive from 80 GB to GB ?

    SATA drives are universal, have a ball!

    Yes you can,

    depending on your Operating system you may need a software or BIOS update to be able to use all of the hard drive.

    Yes you will need the installation cd for OS and the drivers for your system to put on the new harddrive

    80GB was IDE SATA transformation period? SATA 1.0 if it is sata your speed will not increase but size will and yes it is backwards compatible

    Yes, you can upgrade to 500Gb, 1Tb or even 2Tb.
