How crazy of an idea is it to go back to school for cake decorating instead of boring office job?
been working at an office for the past 8 years, is closing down soon..... would it be crazy to take time off and go to school for cake decorating? i dont have much experience at all just like the idea.. dont know how 'practical' it is?

Cake making and cake decorating can be a unique opportunity to explore a fresh industry specially after working in an office for 8 years. Nothing more exciting and challenging than pursuing different job opportunities till you get to a point where you enjoy what you do. So yes, it can be a practical idea if done right.

Too many cake decorators in this world.
Many have gone to school for 4 years for this and not found jobs.
Remember. Things you love don't always pay the bills
Before dropping 40K to 80K for a school do your research

you'd have to be working a pretty busy bakery to get full time hours as a cake decorator - probably no health benefits
