The first answer would be 1. Find a pattern that is the level that I know I can sew with confidence.
2. Will the pattern fit my personality and look well with my body shape? 3. Will you be able to find the right fabric. All fabrics do not work up well with all patterns. 4. Read the suggestions on the pattern and see if you are confident you can manage the examples and do you like the pattern a lot, not because my friend is making one like it. 5. After reading the suggestions, decide if the pattern will cause you to stay within your budget. I hope these help you. They are what I look for when I purchase a new pattern.
