No, just put the old hard drive into the new Xbox. Also you HAVE to be using your Xbox Live account to not have to redeem the code

You get a unfastened month of Xbox stay for signing up for an Xbox stay account, this is the unfastened month that is referring too. So at the Xbox stay blade, click 'check in' and when you check in it's going to say you qualify for a unfastened month.
