Depends on the company. If you want low wages, then some red states are better for the companies. However, the quality of the work force is often higher in blue states, which is why there are so many cutting edge companies in California, Massachusetts, Washington and New York.

  • If progressives chase away jobs, how do you explain California producing 1/7 of the GDP of the entire country? If it were a country, it would have the 8th largest economy in the world.

  • I flat out reject your assertion that companies want to move to red states. Certain companies that depend on unskilled labor tend to get it cheaper in red states because red states are poorer, less educated, the people have lower IQ's, and therefore will work cheaper (Yes all of these descriptive statistics are easy to find). Furthermore, the people in these states aren't smart enough to figure out they can vote to increase wages and working conditions, or demand better conditions through union negotiations. If you need a bunch of cheap labor, that's where you want to be, because those people will tend to let you exploit them.

If you need skilled, intelligent, educated workers, then you'll want to go to the blue states, because that's where they tend to reside. There are no high school dropouts on wall street or silicon valley (well maybe a few geniuses). Places like Seattle, NY, and Cali attract companies that rely on smart people. They would fail in Oklahoma.

Texas/Taxus has some of the highest taxes in America yet has a 13 billion yearly deficit.

Texas has the third highest sales tax in america at 8.25%

Texas has many hidden excise taxes that trick uneducated people.

Texas has the highest property tax in america at 1.76% of your home's value every year according to the Tax Foundation.

Texas taxes/confiscates 4.6% of all oil/gas produced and still has a 13 billion yearly deficit.

Excellent point. What people will not say is that the goal of progressive economic policies is to establish a government-run job industry. If you legislate the private sector out of existence, it creates an excuse to create new public sector jobs (that they can't afford), doesn't it?

Who, in their right mind, would want to base a corporation in an area where labor has any power over its conditions of employment?

    Duh.

Show me a state where slaves are legal, and I'll show you a state with a WHOLE BUNCH of businesses.

    Labor costs cut into PROFITS.

You should take some courses in business or economics.

On average 6 companies leave California each week for red states like Texas which wont tax them to death or be forced to accept unionization.

Because they don't have to pay you as much, and you don't mind taking in their pollutants if it means you'll get a job. Sounds good right? wrong, because those same companies who will go to where it's cheapest to move to won't stop in your hopeless little town. they'll go to India, where it's cheaper still. Look, If you want to turn your red state into a third world cesspool, go right ahead. kick out the EPA, accept their $2 an hour union-less job offers. (any more, and those jobs go overseas like the rest of them) If you want those jobs, your welcome to them.

    They don't.

Blue states, like California, New York and Washington, are popular corporate hubs. Red states, like Texas, the Carolinas and West Virginia, get plowed for their natural resources and left. If you want to program computers, or work in science, or work any kind of modern, high-quality job, move to a blue state. If you want to get black lung until your state runs out of mountains to detonate, move to a red state.
