What is the role of capacitors in DC circuits like motherboard, graphic card etc?
Hey I was just reading from this site http://farside.ph.utexas.edu/teaching/302l/lecture... that "Capacitors do not play an important role in DC circuits because it is impossible for a steady current to flow across a capacitor". Which means that capacitor doesn't allow current to flow when it's charged. So any experts let me know what role it circuits like motherboard, graphics card, soundboard etc which works on DC current. Thanks in advance.

capacitors have a lot of uses, they can act as bypass capacitors, they are also essential for filters, they are also used to clean up power spikes, they are also an element on voltage regulators and oscillators...
although your power supply changes the AC input into different DC values, your motherboards and other peripherals will use different DC levels...
that statement in your question is only true when there is only one level of DC(one value) and is not true for variable DC and pulsating DC

relies upon. in case you began with a discharged capacitor, once you grew to become the circuit ON modern-day would bypass till the capacitor charged. Then the present would bypass to 0. So, in case you had a circuit which you wanted to artwork that way, sure you should apply a capacitor in a DC circuit.
