The other factor must be 2x^2 + ax + b.

    Multiply out (x^2 + 2x + k)(2x^2 + ax + b)

    Compare what you get with 2x^4 + x^3 - 14x^2 + 5x + 6 noting that they must be identical, i.e. the same number of x^3, x^2, x and constant.

    Factors are (x+3)(x-1)(x-2) (2x+1) , (x+3)(x-1) =x^+2x-3 , k=-3
