Should Ablett and Selwood both be cited by the MRP ?

Chanel 10 showed a 2 second glimpe of Ablett striking Norths Harvey to the jaw,and didn't repeat it, while at the MCG, the boundary rider Mark Howard seemed a little horrified at Selwoods treatment of the Hawks Guerra, who had to be helped from the ground. No camera shots of Selwoods incident were shown? It seemed the commentators didn't want to know about it! Last week they showed Thomas's hit on Jones 25 times ??? . From what i saw of Ablett's hit, he should get 2 weeks if the MRP are fair dinkum !

Update:

I totally agree with the ch10 commentary bias, its simply appalling. Its becoming obvious to me now, that the faceless MRP are inplace to do little more than "APPROVE'' players CITED by media commentators. While the AFL have a so called system in place,i get the feeling its showing clear signs of contamination !

Not only that, Selwood should be cited for been a head ducking cheat.

The commentators in the Hawks/Geelong game were disgusting...the bias was utterly nauseating.

I couldn't agree more with Biggus's answer. As a mutual supporter I can't believe how bias Robert Walls was towards Selwood in that last quarter. Selwood this, Selwood that. First of all he got taken out by Sewell and restricted to only 19 touches. When he hit Guerra off the play, Walls said something along the lines of "Guerra had enough left in him to bump Selwood".. trying to point out that it was Guerras fault.

Quote 1 from Walls (as Selwood is lining up for goal in the 4th): "I said before the game that Selwood would be the match-winner and you laughed at me."

Result 1: Selwood kicks a point

Quote 2 from commentators (when scores were 88-83): "He's had a super game, all Selwood needs to do is kick a point and that will be enough"

Result 2: Selwood kicks it out on the full

I like Joel Selwood and he is a good player, but the commentators need to respect that it wasn't his best game and shut up.

Source(s): To answer your question, Ablett's high contact was reckless, but because it's Ablett they will probably find a way to get him out of it. To Selwood, well how about they show us the footage? Guerra looked pretty bad after it though..They should both be looked at

I cant comment on the Joel Selwood incident. but as towards Garry Abletts little good onya for breaking the club record Brent. that one will be looked at for sure. whether he does time or not well you tell me.

I have been saying it for years, when it comes to the tribunal. it needs to be run by an independent bunch of people. that have nothing to do with footy. just like the umpiring. it should be run professionally by people that have nothing to do with the AFL. but its never gonna happen. not in my life time anyway. the AFL want to control everything. & yes some times that includes MRP decisions.

Tribunal now Match Review Panel. the more things change. the more things stay the same.

    cheers.

Can people please stop bagging selwood. Hes a great player and plays well. He did something wrong and everybody goes apesh#t. Some people just like him more than others.
