9 year old Birthday Party Crazy/Wacky?
My daughter wants to have a birthday party.. She wants it to be crazy in the sense that everything is mix matched. and colorful with a topsy turvy mad hatter type cake. She would like everyone to play silly games and have lots of laughs.
Any ideas to be silly and crazy with games, decorations or food? We are open to all ideas.

Maybe have a messy theme, and get all the kids in really old clothes so they don't get all stuffed up.
Games: Egg toss, obstacle course (with things like a tarp with spaghetti on it, whipped cream pies, some Gelli-baff, if you can find it, and the like.), Flour mountain, (mountain of flour, jelly bean on top. everyone takes turns carving a bit out of the mountain, if the jelly bean falls, you have to pick it out with your mouth, and eat it. Works best with a wet face.) apple bobbing, that doughnut one( where they have to eat a doughnut from a string without their hands, but add a LOT of cream onto it, so when they eat it, they get cream all over their faces), a food fight, gummi-bear pie (a pie tin filled with whipped cream, they have to dive in head tirst to retrieve and eat 10 gummi bears.)

For the food you may want to do something that can be built and give you a wide variety of sides. Like a baked potato bar (or taco or nacho, etc) with everything that you could ever imagine on a potato and somethings that do not belong at all (gummy worms, sprinkles, chocolate). That could be kind of crazy. The other idea would be to do something exotic that is really delicious but not what nine year-olds normally eat. The other idea would be to make a mad hatter tea party with lots of finger foods that don't really go together. Bacon wraps and ice cream sandwiches...
For the games you could go to a thrift store and get a bunch of ugly clothes and props and have the kids dress up. Maybe they could put on short skits.

Well it sounds as if she wants it Alice in Wonderland theme???? I love the cake idea with a topsy turvy cake hat. This video may give you some ideas:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHY_F53ClJ8.
You can have colorful streamers, and tell everyone to dress a certain way.
Hope this helps.

Alice and Wonderland! I want to do either that or Wizard of Oz for my daughter's next thing. 3 legged races are pretty funny. My favorite party site is www.hostessblog.com. Check out the blog.
I think the inside of this cake is prety wacky. http://www.hostessblog.com/2009/03/real-parties-ti...

Have you ever tried Night at the Museum? You turn off all the lights and one boy walks around witha flashlight. THe other people try to move without him catching them. The concept of the game is to act like statues that are alive but the night guard ( the boy with the flashlight) cant see you move.

chocolate fondue or crepes. this is what i have done for my daughter last year.
u can buy a whole chocolate fondue tower thingy online.
then prepare.. fruits... cookies... biscuits...breads...nuts..ice cream.. marshmallows.. etc etc
then let kids enjoy the heavenly fondue experience!
u bake like 20~ 50 crepes.. ( up to how many kids would come over)
then prepare.. ice cream... whipped cream.. chocolate syrup... caramel syrups.. sliced fruits.. cereals.. cakes...tuna dip... vegetables... patties.. etc etc.
then let kids make their own crepes...
all they need to do is to pick foods they like.. put them on crepe.. roll it... done!
