What would Be a good Rapper Name..?

Go for something that stands out. The #1 problem with most rappers' handles is that they're forgettable and trite. I know hiphop is something of a slave (hmm, probably not the best term) to convention, but I'd avoid a couple obvious things:

--don't name yourself after a consumer product. Not only does it make you look like a shill, the company will probably sue you. It's happened countless times.

--be careful about using the word "Da" -- it's been pretty played out, and its easily forgettable.

--skip the "thugged-out misspellings" -- again, played-out, and it makes the rapper look ignorant. As much as I love Tupac, was it really a great idea to misspell "Macchiavelli"? (I probably just misspelled it, haha).

Actual suggestions? Man, I'm going to break my own advice, but the first thing that comes to mind is "K-Real". Short and sweet. Oh, another thing -- make sure you do a thorough search online to verify that the name isn't already someone known. Most of the most obvious names are taken. If his name is Khalil, you wanna avoid stuff that sounds like "Talib Kwali", also, since he'll get lost in the crowd. ****, K-Real isn't a bad one. If he gets big, he owes me ;)

(Oh, final thing -- its a cliche, but if he's young and his name already includes "-lil", you can play around with the "Lil' <blank>" thing...although I'm not a fan of it, and if you notice, when rappers get older, they tend to be embarassed by it.

-- Kha the Shah (Middle-Eastern vibe?)

-- Khomplex (I like the Kh-concept)

(I don't know if its his style, but you can always play around with adding "DJ" and other prefixes, of course).
