How to add reference in MS word?citation to a paragraph like [1] e.g. in research papers?

Well! I am trying to write reviews of research papers but I am unable to write there reference like [1] I mean I want to add reference at end of document in MS word. but unable to do that. can anyone tell me how can I?

"Since Crohn's disease (CD) was first described, the role of psychosocial factors has been discussed in respect to both causation and progression of the disease [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7] and [8]. However, the numerous studies addressing patient psychopathology or the importance of stressful life events have thus far not come up with any conclusive results [1], [5], [9], [10], [11], [12], [13], [14], [15] and [16]."

And papers/books names are added at the end of document with same numbering. is it possible in MS Word or I should use latex

    need to add footnotes /endnotes /citations/ references to your document in Microsoft Word? Easy, easy, easy! Follow the simple steps below to prepare a manuscript that looks as if it were prepared by a professional...you:

    Quote

    Quote the article or book or individual in your manuscript. Use proper punctuation at the end of the quote or sentence in which the article/book/individual was quoted or referenced.

    Rutherford Quote

    Stop typing immediately after inserting the proper punctuation mark (after the quote or sentence in which the article/book/individual was quoted or referenced). You are now going to insert your footnote/citation/reference number.

    Open Office

    Move your cursor to the row of tabs at the top of your Microsoft Word document --- the row that begins with "File, Edit, View, Insert, Format," etc. Click on the tab titled "Insert." The Insert Tab will have several selections, including "Footnote." Click on the word "Footnote."

    Check Reference

    Choose the format and placement of your footnotes, endnotes, references, and/or citations in the window that will appear when you chosse "Footnote." In this window, you can choose footnotes or endnotes, if you want the footnotes to appear at the bottom of the page or at the end of the manuscript, the format of the numbers or symbols, which number you want to start with, and if you want the numbers to be continuous or to restart for each section.
