Tomas Kalnoky wrote all the songs for Keasbey Nights. They recorded the album, it was really popular, and then Kalnoky decided he wanted to do graphic design instead of play music. So he left Catch-22. They found someone else to play guitar and sing, and they kept playing his songs. A couple years later he decides he wants to play music, so he starts a new band (with a couple of the original members of Catch-22) and Streetlight was born. Catch was probably pissed off that he left the group/ changed his mind (compare Keasbey to their later albums. All their later albums are much less interesting and sound like any other third wave ska band), and said so in the press. So Kalnoky responded with the lyric in "A Moment of Silence" - "If you hate me so much then stop singing my songs!"

Kalnoky's stopped singing that line when Streetlight plays live, so they're probably cool now, but he always makes fun of them when he plays solo shows.
