I love the Sims 3. It works fine on my computer.

There is so much new stuff, especially in the expansion packs. There's the new trait system, which I like much better than the personality points system. It makes for much more individual Sims and creates some interesting scenarios. There's a Kleptomaniac trait that lets your Sim steal things from around town and from other Sims's houses, which you can actually visit and go into.

You have more control over their work performance, especially if you have Ambitions, which introduces professions, like Firefighter and Stylist.

The Sims have Moods now instead of an Aspiration meter. They still have wishes, but they don't have fears anymore so you don't really have to worry about them having a mental breakdown (as funny as that was on Sims 2). There's also a Lifetime Rewards system, which is a bit like what was introduced in FreeTime. You can also change your Sims' lifespans now, too.

The latest patch for the game also introduced memories, similar to what was in Sims 2, but now you can make your own custom memories and edit the memories your Sims already have.

There's so much new stuff in the Sims 3. It's not the Sims 2, and if you play it expecting it to be the Sims 2, you're going to be disappointed with it. It's a great game in and of itself, especially with a couple of expansion packs. I have World Adventures and Ambitions and I really like both of them.

I highly recommend the Sims 3.

Actually, there are quite a bit of differences between the sims 2 and the sims 3. The texture of the objects, surroundings and sims is a lot smoother and slightly more detailed. The sims in the sims 3 have specific personality traits, while the sims in the sims 2 don't. The sims in the sims 3 aren't as needy (meaning they do not have to go to the bathroom every 2 seconds lol) The aspire to a lot more things. Also, in the sims 3 the sims can wander about the neighborhood rather than just being stuck on one lot. You are also able to change sims so much easier. The other sims in the neighbourhood will age regardless if you are playing with them or not. They have cars, too. However, there are no pets, vacations, businesses, apartments, etc in the sims 3, so really its an entirely different game than the sims 2.

The Sims 2 is fun and the Sims 3 is $hit.

I turned the Sims 3 off almost straight away. Epic waste of money.

Graphics are a royal down grade

Unlike number 2, you can't go inside community lots like restaurants,

It has the real life aging thing. But I played with that on. And when I decided to change house holds. All the other characters had either gone from teen to old. Or were dead

    Don't buy it

@James. Better graphic detail!?! Are you serious? It's 100 times worse. For example the fire engine. That's gone from having lots of detail, to pretty much a red rectangle

I say you're just better off with the Sims 2. I played The Sims 3 maybe once, and never played it again. I think it's stupid. The graphics are NOT near as good as the Sims 2. There may be more actions and stuff, but to me, it isn't worth it. I pay $50 for absolutely nothing. >.<

Sims 3 is supposed to have better graphics and more actions.

Personally, I think Sims 2 is way better. But that's just my opinion :)

Sims 3 has better Graphics and you can do more things like have triplets, better houses, clothing, Furniture...ect.

I have heard lots of people go back to Sims 2 because you can do more things on it.

Sims 3 is soo much improved.

You can see what each character thinks.

You can see inside other people's houses and other buildings.

The careers are more explored, and you have little quests.

The clothes are better, and the looks are more unique.

    You can go to bars.

It's a lot more like real life and sucks you right in.
