You can vote for your own answer as best answer because the people at Yahoo Answers like you to feel good about yourself! I have to admit that I get a lot of points this way, well, a lot for someone who's only on here 3 times a day for 15, 30 and 15 minutes at a time.

I'm pleased you asked this question and happy to have read the other answers and know I'm not the only one who votes for ME!

You can only choose your own answer as best when the question has gone to the public vote. There are no rules to say that you cannot vote for your own answer if it is the best answer, Yahoo changed the rules to allow users to vote for their own answers some time ago.

  • Y!A allows it (like most electoral processes) in an effort to resolve the huge backlog of undecided questions.

They do however, hide the avatars and nicknames on questions in voting to make it fairer.

If you know which answer is yours and you think it's the Best Answer ---> vote for it. It's perfectly legal here.

If you were running for president, you could vote for yourself. I think that same approach is here as well.

Maybe some glitch in Y! Answers.

Or maybe when they remove the names of the persons who've answered, they don't consider you as the answerer!
