Has anyone here had a holiday in Italy?

Would you recommend it? Is it expensive to eat out there?

Hi, I'm an italian girl who lives in UK now.

No, eat out isn't so expensive, it depends where you go, often int the touristic places is more expensive, but if you go just out of the city centre there are a lot of lovely trattorias where you can eat delicious meals and save money.

However, I recommend you... eat as much as you can! You'll love it!

Please remember that: Italy is very various... from north to south, west to East... in every region you can taste different meals and differents flavours. Obviously, Italy it isn't good only for the food, there are a lot of interesting places to visit, things to do, everywhere there are a lot of amazing things... sorry, bit homesick! :-)

Where do you want to go in Italy, exactly?

When I was in Italy, I worked in the official tourism agency of my region. Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, in the north-east. I link you the website.

    Cheers!

Italy is an excellent place to go although you're probably going when it's going to be SERIOUSLY hot. But if you stay around the Northern regions you'll be fine. It's not that expensive (no more than the UK anyway) and the people are very nice and chatty.

We did a cycle tour around Venice with a company called Freewheel Holidays. It was the perfect way to see everything Italy has to offer, and kept us pretty fit too!

    HAVE A GREAT TIME!

Venice is a glorious cliché, more intimate, more beautiful and more surprising than you may expect. Irrespective of exactly how many pictures or films you may have observed, it is however a jaw-dropping experience viewing Venice's canals and palaces for the first time and that you'd do with the aid of this site hotelbye . Certainly Venice's best-known church and one of the very most simply acknowledged in the world is St. Mark's Basilica (Basilica di San Marco). This basilica was initially the Doge's private chapel, furnished with Byzantine art treasures which are the main booty cut back by Venetian ships after the drop of Constantinople. The gold-backed mosaic images over the gates on the façade only trace at the mosaic beauty inside, where 4,240 square meters of silver mosaics cover the walls. So, the St. Mark`s Basilica is a place worth visited.

I went on holiday to rome, venice and sorrento.

I went in the summer and it was hotter than ever before in rome so i didn't enjoy it as much but i still had a good experience.

Venice was great, such a beautiful place with a cool breeze and lovely buildings

Sorrento was my favourite place, the smell of lemons every shop you go in and the beautiful streets at night

italy is a lovely place and i would love to go again in the future

I went quite a long time ago so i cant really tell you what prices are like now, but i loved every minute of it and have been meaning to go back . We stayed in Rimini which was beautiful, its only downside was that its huge stretch of beach was divided up into hundreds of "mini-beaches". This isnt really a problem as you can obviously still walk the length of it and sit down wherever you like, i just felt it made the beachfront look a bit ugly. Id definatly recommend going.

  • i'm Italian so i know a lot of places, especially in the cities where there are tourists , where eat is very cheap. the food in Italy is fantastic but eat out it isn't absolutely expensive!

Yes, last year. We stayed in Ravello, which is beautiful, and the scenery from our balcony was quite breathtaking - but yes i would say that Italy is expensive.

You have to see Rome! No, it isn't overly expensive...and you will remember it all your life. My daughter (age 27) and I had a mummy-daughter bonding long weekend there earlier this year. LOVED it!
