I'm trying to find a very dark sounding pickup to put in the neck of my guitar.It is alder with maple nck/ftbd?
I have a Dimarzio Super 2 in the bridge. I'm trying to find a pick up that can get really deep and dark without getting muddy and remaining clarity. Any pickup company will do. My price range is from 0 to $110ish

Look into the Dimarzio Breed. I had it in the neck of a heavy-bodied basswood guitar, and it was clear but too deep and dark for the guitar. Check out the reviews here:

I exchanged it for an EJ Custom, which ended up being the perfect neck pickup since I wanted acoustic-type cleans with sharp attack and an open sound. But the Breed in a bright guitar ought to do you very well.

gotta be the emg zw for me personally best i have ever used i think it maybe a little pricy but u will have to check it out on youtube :)
