How do you get people to stop emailing stuff you do not want when it has nothing like an unsuscribe section?

Clicking "Unsubscribe" isn't the best thing to do anyway. More often than not, it just confirms your email address and you get more. BUT... IT'S YOUR SPAM FOLDER!! It doesn't matter what's in there. DO NOT OPEN those emails!!! You don't even need to ever open that folder unless you're expecting an email that you haven't received in your In Box. It's spam... which is why it's in there!! By opening them, and clicking to unsubscribe, you've just caused yourself to get more. The reason you have the Spam folder is so that those unwanted emails will go there, and you don't have to bother with them. You don't need to open them, unsubscribe or delete them. Yahoo! empties that folder for us every 3-4 days or so.

Regardless of what anyone has told you, you absolutely do not get viruses from emails... only if you click on links in the emails, or open attachments. To be even safer, you don't open them, which you have been doing in order to unsubscribe. Just leave that folder alone unless you're looking for something specific that you KNOW is safe.

Blocking spammers is a waste of time, because they either hide (spoof) or keep changing the actual address used to send the mail. Simply mark these as Spam and Delete without ever opening them ... some spam can install malware without your clicking any link in it.

The Sophos anti-virus team has reported a rapid increase in this newest malware that infects a computer merely by opening the message - I trust their reputation!

The solution is simple ... Before your grandson uses your mail account, delete all messages in the Spam folder - tell him you are washing it clean (He knows what that means.) Warn him NEVER to open this folder. It's a teaching moment about the dangers of computers and 'getting infections' and a sick computer - a term he will understand.

Did you subscribe or ask for those E-mails, Babe? If you did then open one and look at the bottom of the page. There should be a "unsubscribe" button or link there, click on it. Fill out the form or follow instructions, and you should now be "unsubscribed!"

If you did not ask for them, or they continue to send them to you, then treat them as the spam that they are. Do not open them, but check mark them then click on the 'spam' button, this will send it to your 'spam' box, and any other mails from that address should also go to your 'spam' box from now on.
