Acer aspire one had a black screen and would not power off.?

It finally ran out of battery power, but when i plugged it in and turned it on it won't power on. The power button lights up for a second and goes out. What has happened?

    take the charger to the local repair shop and have it tested if it is okay you will have to take the computer in for service.
