a state trooper just pulled my wife over for her window tint but its a stock 2010 tundra?

Ok first she was pulled over for speeding but then he got her for her tint. I bought the truck used from a toyota dealership about 8 months ago. Can i call them up and tell them that they sold me a truck with illegal tint and have them pay for the ticket and then change the tint. I live in alabama and it says on the window that it is 30 percent but that trooper said it was 13.2 percent.

If the window was built stock into the vehicle ( you can confirm this with your local dealership using the VIN number of the vehicle ) you can beat the ticket. All you need is for the dealership to print out the build sheet for the vehicle proving that it was indeed originally built with that tinted window. You will easily win the case with documentation. I've heard of things like this before - and it's likely that the officer was indeed harrassing your wife. Not all officers are correct about window tint situations - and if it was sold in your state by a dealer, then the dealership would not have been able to sell it to you in the first place if it was illegal to begin with. And there you have it.

You can take the dealer to small claims court. You have to prove that they knew the tint was illegal. They got the truck as a trade in and probably didn't know the tint was illegal. Usually getting a tint ticket is only a fix-it ticket. So peel it off and have an officer sign off on it. Then if you want, you can re-apply the tint. Just have your wife slow down.

hi Jesse, It relies upon which state you're in. i believe in all states you could't tint your the front homestead windows. that is because that is seen risky to an officer at the same time as drawing close your vehicle window. you're pulling out a weapon or hiding information so I advise no longer tinting the front homestead windows, or checking with city/city officials previously hand. besides the undeniable fact that the again homestead windows must be okay to tint besides the undeniable fact that you want, yet again verify with someone beforehand. good success and be threat-free!

Slap that trooper until the window tint is 30%

The dealer will have to window ticket part.

BTW What the cop did is a common thing. First he pulls you over for a big ticket (speeding) then he gives you a small one that is easy to fix. That way you are happy to say "I beat the that part" making you happy about that & then going on and paying the big ticket but not fighting it also.
