What is the Writer's Market?

I've seen it mentioned on here a lot but what is it? I googled it and read that it's the bible for writers on wikipedia and amazon. But what is in it? Articles teaching writers about publishing or writing well? I am a writer but I never thought about publishing (at least not yet, never say never!) so I don't really know about this book. Would it be worth reading even if you weren't planning on being published, as in it helps you with your writing? Thanks :)

The Writer's Market contains a few articles on writing and getting published, but for the most part all the book is is a complete listing of Agents, Publishing Houses, Websites and Magazines that are looking for writing.

If you aren't currently planning on getting published, then it's probably not something you need right now.

I do not suppose it does. There is also some way to buy it via the ebook membership, I'm no longer definite.. or might be Writer Digest has a reward certificates that they would get for you, and also you would in flip use for the net marketplace. BTW, the marketplace ebook does have a few fairly well know-how past the markets, articles and recommendation from publishers and sellers, and different writers. so the deliver of the ebook is not a foul notion. I have a few and hate to do away with them, although the markets are old-fashioned. I feel the net marketplace has a few articles too, however I've on no account long past into them.
