Andretti Autosports coming to Nascar?
In the Jayski link Nostradammit posted in his Carl/JGR question, I saw where Andretti Autosports is looking into Nascar, and indicated they may be in talks with Roush and Ford. Would this open another door for even more open wheel drivers and their fans, and how do you think the loyal Nascar community will take it? I've talked to some fans that see it as a good thing, and some that look at it as an invasion by open wheelers simply looking for that big Nascar paycheck, which is considerably bigger from what I understand.

Well if they can be competitive and have the equipment, sponsors and can win, I say heck why not, Nascar races do pay pretty dang good. I like both forms of racing Indy and Nascar. Everyone seems to want a piece of Nascar, why not go for it. After all Mario did win the Daytona 500 back in the day. Maybe Marco can do the same.

If they have a solid sponsor deal, that's where the money is....though the NASCAR business model has sagged with the economy. But this cannot be some experiment with drivers, so look at this scenario like Ganassi; it's about results ASAP, since the decals evaporate quick when taking the scenic route around each track or failing to qualify for the show.

I think it could be a good thing happening in the future. I'm not much of a NASCAR person, but I wouldn't mind Andretti Autosports setting up a team for Nascar. More popularity for them. :)

The big NASCAR checks come with much nigher costs. If Andretti can get the sponsor money more power to them. The name may get them the funding to compete.
