Question about brand new ear piercing?

I just got my ear pierced two days ago, the piercing is located about halfway up the side of my ear, like just before the cartilage begins. The skin around the piercing is turning a kind of grayish color, and i was wondering if this is normal? Like maybe it's just a bruise? It was professionally done, and the jewelry is real and sterilized. Also, there is no discharge from it at all, which the guy told me to expect. But is the skin discoloration normal?

Update:

Okay, obviously I'm not stupid, I know what a piercing is. I was wondering about the discoloration, making sure I don't have an infection or something and what I should do about it. If you don't have an answer, don't comment please.

Give it a day or 2, if the colour lightens/ turns yellowy then yes it is a bruise, if not then go back to your piercer and get them to take a look.

Do you realize what piercing actually is? It's no different than getting a puncture wound! That's right, it causes some trauma and formation of scar tissue. Just because someone does it for decorative reasons does not change the fact that process still creates a wound!
