Now that Steam exists does anyone buy PC games anymore?
I haven't bought a PC game since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. I used to buy PC games all of the time and install and play them with no problems. Now that seems impossible. Steam has destroyed PC gaming for me. My internet is too slow for online gaming and having to be online and deal with all of these stupid updates/activation BS and kiss steam's @$$ just to install a freaking game that I have the disk for makes it not even worth the effort. Should be no reason to go online when I have the original disk. Does anyone still buy PC games and deal with this Steam crap?
Too bad my internet isn't fast enough to download the games off of steam and enjoy the sales. It would take months, maybe even years. Is it possible to download the game on someone else's computer and then copy it on a disk or external hard drive?
Also the "offline" mode in Steam doesn't appear to work when I'm offline. Steam refuses to even run when I'm offline. What a load of crap.

I use steam sometimes, but prefer the boxed version. If for whatever reason, Steam crashes, goes out of business, game gets removed from their service I can still play it whenever I want if it is and offline game.

Steam has an offline mode where you don't 'need' to be connected to the internet to play games. the only downside is that you don't get achievements. I have a friend who buys disc copies of games, but with Steam's sales I cant resist not buying it. And besides the Steam Summer Sale will be soon if there is going to be one this year. 10 days of sales *drools*
