What Is The Difference In These Two Fender Guitars?
I want to buy an electric guitar for a gift. Problem is that I'm not sure of the difference between these two model made by Fender. One is a Fender Squire and the other is an HSS. They are both equal in price. Seems like they are both offered for 119.00 on the net and It seems like a good deal. I have done some research and learned it is a good beginner guitar and the YouTube videos are impressive. Both have a humbuckler but what is an HSS? Is there and advantage? Does one have more pick-ups?
What's the better one?

You didn't give us much detail on the first guitar. Like the first person said, HSS means it has one humbucker in the bridge position and two single coils in the middle and neck positions. I would normally assume the other guitar you're talking about has an SSS (all single coils) configuration which is just a standard Squier Strat but you say both have humbuckers so I have no idea what the other Squier you're talking about is. Bottom line, it really doesn't matter which you chose. Fender and Squier sell more standard SSS guitars than they do HSS for what that's worth but one is no better than the other. For a beginner that difference is meaningless really.

HSS stands for Humbucker (in the bridge) and 2 single coils. I would rather buy a Yamaha Pacifica 112 than a Squier. Then buy a used Japanese Fender Strat or a Mexican or even USA when you have the money.

I want the pickups with the covers, and the chrome hardware over the nickel. they are the two mahagony with rosewood fretboards and that they are the two american made gibsons so no vast differences there. I additionally like the actuality that the 2nd guitar comes with a hardshell case somewhat of a gigbag. i've got been enjoying and fixing guitars for a protracted , long term and if i had a decision i might actual get the 2nd.individually i might by no potential order a guitar from everywhere. they must be performed earlier you lay down your no longer undemanding earned money. they are all diverse products of timber and that they might seem same yet sound completely diverse. I gotta attempt'em earlier i purchase'em yet it is as much as you. good luck!
