What would you chose? Research or Public Health?

as a course for a med student? What do you think is more useful?

Update:

It's a summer extra course that won't define my medical career path.. just interested in everyone's opinion as to which topic might be more useful :)

Whether one should choose a course in research or public health as a prerequisite for a medical professional education is really dependent on what one wants to do in medicine. If one feels that medical research is the field is a career goal, then I would pick research. On the other hand, if one wanted to practice medicine instead of doing research in that field, then public health might be a better choice.

Nevertheless, if one was unsure about such a choice at this point in his/her medical career, then I think the research course would be the right choice for that person. Good luck.
