How does the verizon sim card work?

i have a blackberry tour 9630 and im planning on trading it for my friends iphone 4. My BB has a sim card and i dont know what to do with it when i trade it with her. Do i got to keep it? Does she have to get a new one or can she use it for the BB when i give it to her? Whats the purpose of this card and why dont all the phones have it? like the iphone 4..

for the ones who say that verizon doesnt have a sim card..

whats the little card on the back on the back of the phone? the red/black one. not the sandisk..

    The 9630 has a SIM card because it is a world phone.

    World phones work on GSM networks unlike other CDMA BBs like the Curve.

    The 9630 can be unlocked so it will work on GSM networks used by AT&T, T-Mobile etc.

    Verizon does not have SIM cards since it is a CDMA network.

    Verizon has no sim card... Neither does sprint... only At&t and t-mobile have sim cards...
