How to remove black hair dye from a white wall?
I was dying my hair black in the bathroom, and somehow managed to get a glob of it on the white wall. I wiped it off quickly, but it was on there just long enough to leave a gray outline. What is the best way to remove the hair dye without repainting the walls? I'm renting.

it would not fall under normal wear and tear;
any dye can be removed by chorine bleach; because thats what chlorine bleach do; remove die; nothing else; so i'd dilute chlorine bleach; 1/10; and gradually increase strength
by the way; it should react to it in minute or less; so if it don't react in a min; move on;
wait till it dries and use increased strength
then neutralize it with acid; since its alkali ; vinegar is good; 1/10 ratio;

Hahaha, that always happens to me. My mom uses bleach to clean it off counters, which works really well. But with walls, it's made of plaster so there's no other way to take it off other than painting over it. Since your walls are white, you can get relatively cheap white acryllic paint (not ACTUAL wall paint, but paint from craft stores that is think and not washable) and paint over it. I had to do this a couple of times. I recommend getting the acryllic paint that is no less than $5.00 a bottle/jar because the cheaper ones are thin and don't cover well. Go to Michael's or something to get the paint. It's like $7.00 I think.

i dyed my hair black last week and somehow managed to get it EVERYWHERE! i had wallpaper however. try finger nail polish, and then bleach!! both of these worked on my skin, tile floor, and bathroom counter. with a white wall, i wouldn't expect them to hurt it or discolor it. i would be careful, but it should do the trick on the wall. good luck!

I took dye off my white bat vanity. Tried vinegar. bleach, alcohol..nothing happened. I then I used fingernail polish remover..voila. Came right off and didn't hurt paint.

Nothing is going to take it out. Just buy a little can of paint and touch-up the one spot. No reason to paint the whole room - esp. when it's just white.
