Why do republicans always create great depressions when they get control of government?

Both our great depressions were at the end of long-term republican control:

Jan 1920-1932 = Entire republican government = Great Depression 1

Jan 2001-2007 = Entire republican government = Great Depression 2

Republicans controlled the entire govt for 6 years and created a disaster which they blame on Obama.

because the republican strategy is to slash interest rates to near zero, give everybody a huge credit line, then create a massive frenzy trading stocks or flipping houses. Then the sophisticated republican investors sell out at the peak of the bubble and leave all the taxi drivers/waitresses stuckw with worthless investments.

  • Who is blaming Obama for the recent recession? Republicans have complained that his actions with the Health care bill and the financial regulatory bill are hindering a quick recovery.

Second Just as with the great depression a certain set of circumstances was the cause and had no relationship to the politicians in power. The Federal Reserve Bank contracted the supply of money and caused the stock market to crash and that lead to the depression. The FED also caused the latest recession by loosening the money supply and setting interest rates so low and encouraging easy lending practices because the government was there to bail out the bad loans. That set the stage for disaster. When people started to fail on the loans the housing market crashed and took down the whole economy.

Your attempts to blame are just partisan ignorance.

Actually the Republicans had little to do with the cause that effected the crash of the economy, which was done by using democrat measures on Banking Regulation to force them to make bad loans to "help the poor" and fuel policy which was push up the price of fuel. That's what the recent crash was all about, the Fed's traitors in our government did it deliberately timed for Obama's election. Obama who's worked with Soros since long before we knew him. The other was the Fed also, the Rothschild cartel, and they are not loving the Republicans.

Bush wasn't perfect by any means, I'm pissed about some things he did do and didn't do, but the crash itself? That wasn't Bush at all. There is a long story here, but to make it short housing and fuel prices brought us down, and when you look back it was all done through democrat operatives and billionaire friends of Democrats to do with the Cap & Trade scam, and it was done deliberately. It was just in time for the Obama election.

I know, you think no one could have orchestrated all that, but it was done, the start was under Carter with the Community reinvestment act, Clinton with Fannie & Freddy putting democrat heavy insiders like Gorelick, Daily & Reins among others in and they caused lending problems. The problems were caused by Regulations forcing banks to give out bad loans.

The whole thing was detonated by high gas prices which ground the economy to a stop, which set off foreclosures which caused problems with the biggest form of banking collateral.

That blew up the economy, and it was no stinking accident, it was deliberate and it worked extremely well, and the people who took part should be tried for treason because that's what it was all about, and Soros and his buddies in Europe who control the Fed were the brains and funding behind the whole damned thing. Obama is a figurehead they chose.

That's it in a nut shell, but there is a lot of detail I didn't add to this.

Source(s): One thing a Republican did though? It was a Republican Senator who was a big Rothschild Traitor working to get the Fed into the US last time it was introduced. Read up on the cause of most of our Economic problems since the creation of this country, they actually financed our Revolution, while they were financing England's war with us that they, the Rothschild Cartel started. Yes, even back then. http://www.bigeye.com/griffin.htm http://conspiracyrealitytv.com/secrets-of-american...

Both our great depressions were AFTER long-term Republican control ENDED.

Both were AFTER policy moves Democrats demanded and which were PREDICTED to cause them.

By the way, you're manifestly wrong about "Entire republican government" in BOTH cases. Their majorities were not Democrat-proof either time. The last time that happened we produced a budget SURPLUS, shrank spending and delivered a ROARING economy unmatched ever since.

Hey Boomer, you know how to cover up large unemployment numbers? Start two wars, and back door draft a bunch of people to fight it. Then the unemployment number go to the next guy when they come home.

Di, From 2001 to 2007, both the House and the Senate were republican controlled. Sorry to have to burden you with the facts.

It is an anomaly of US politics that Republicans talk fiscal responsibility and create debt and recession, while Democrats talk peace and start most of the wars.

In both cases, you had a Democrat President make a bad situation worse.

Republicans are toxic to the economy. Their misguided economic policies ignore the fundamentals. In a complex, modern society appropriate regulation and oversight are necessary. In addition, the interests of the majority of the people have to be addressed. Focusing only on the interests of a few favored wealthy corporations and wealthy individuals is harmful to the economy and to the country in general.
