Is wearing shorts for swimming bad?
So this may sound stupid, but recently I have been wearing shorts to go swimming in. It's because the swim trunks I currently have are to big for me. So i've been wearing underwear with the shorts because i'm a 16 year old male. And for some reason everyone makes a big deal out of it. It's not like my penis is showing or anything, so is it really that big of deal? Or should I just get some swim trunks that fit?

Some pools would actually refuse to let you swim in shorts because the fibers clog the filters. Another issue is that the chlorine will ruin your clothes over a fairly brief time frame. Other than those things, do what you like, lots of people swim in their shorts, just make sure they're clean and you shower first.

No its fine wear what your want it not a big deal but if you want to stop people from making a big deal about it i would go out and get swim trunks that fit

Wear whatever you want. Please yourself; not others. On occasion, I have worn only some white briefs or white boxers, etc in public pools for a lark. Once I even wore my gray pinstripe suit/tie/shoes/white shirt, etc in a hotel pool on a dare from a friend, then drove home 20 miles soaked.
Shorts & underwear? Sounds good enough for me. Have fun.
