What are some popular gay songs/artists?

Question

I'm a musician and I'll be playing a show on Friday at a party the night before PrideFest.  I want to cover some really popular songs by gay/lesbian artists, but even as a lesbian myself, I don't really listen to much, haha.

I figure a couple songs by Melissa Etheridge and Tegan and Sara would be good... what are your favorites, and what else would you recommend?  

**Note- I am a solo artist with an acoustic guitar.  Keep that in mind.

Indigo Girls - Love their stuff.  I play music solo with my acoustic guitar and their stuff works great especially Romeo & Juliet.
I also adore Jen Foster.  Her song Underdogs is very popular.  Along with Amen.  She's a lesbian musician.
