what are the best diets that don't include starving yourself, or eating lots of salad?

lets be honest, we all love a bit of the sweet stuff, but how do i cut back on it all, with out getting rid of it completely?

and lets just say eating salad, just will not cut it for me! what do you guys do, that doesn't involve not eating..because i love my food!

You can eat good food and enjoy yourself while maintaining a healthy diet, you can still eat what you love and lose weight. Just stay active, try a daily brisk walk, yoga or pilates, going to the gym, swimming, etc.

    Ideas for an ideal diet:

    - Eat organic foods when you can

    - Avoid sodas/diet sodas/diet drinks, artificial colors/sweeteners, white flour, too much junk/fast food...

    - Drink plenty of water. Water with lemon is cleansing. Green tea, any tea.

    - Try not to eat too much overly processed foods.

    - Go for healthy fats from olive oil, nuts, seeds, nut butters, etc.

    - Healthy proteins like beans, eggs, salmon, tuna, nuts/nut butter/seeds, low-fat dairy products like cottage cheese and greek yogurt, etc.

    - Eat smaller portions more often; rather than large portions less frequently.

    - Start your day out with a balanced breakfast packed with protein & fiber for energy.

Healthy alternatives to try out :)

    Examples:

Instead of soda - cold sparkling water with lemon/lime or 100 % organic fruit juice mixed in.

Instead of fast food fries - homemade oven fries or sweet potato fries (made with olive oil, salt, pepper, etc.)

For a treat, frozen yogurt. Vanilla nonfat greek yogurt with berries & grated dark/milk chocolate or plain greek yogurt with a drizzle of honey or a jam.

A veggie burger or salmon burger on a whole wheat bun, topped with things you like.

Pizza on thin multigrain crust, topped with lots of fresh veggies.

    - For sweet treats you can also try baking your own using a whole grain flour, agave/honey or organic cane sugar to replace other sugar. You could try making brownies with quinoa, vanilla almond milk, organic cane sugar, ground flax/water or eggs, etc.

    Healthy food ideas =)

~ Greek yogurt or yogurt (nonfat) - Greek yogurt has more protein than regular yogurt

~ Eggs, cheese, cottage cheese (2% is fine), goat cheese, skim milk or goat milk, etc.

    ~ Vegetables

    ~ Fruit & Berries

~ Beans (chickpeas, black beans, kidney beans, mixed beans, etc.) - full of fiber and protein

~ Veggie burgers (Amy's makes great veggie burgers)

~ Multigrain bread, ezekiel bread, rye bread, whole wheat pitas, whole grain tortillas or bagels, etc.

~ Whole grain pasta or brown rice pasta, brown/wild rice, quinoa, etc.

    ~ Sweet potatoes or potatoes

    ~ Hummus

    ~ Oatmeal

~ Healthy cereals (Kashi, Nature's Path Organic, etc..high in fiber like raisin bran)

~ Nuts, seeds, almond butter, peanut butter

~ Non-dairy milks like soy, almond or rice milk

~ Ground flax seed to add into a smoothie, top yogurt, etc.

    ~ Olive oil

    ~ Salmon & Tuna

    ~ Tofu

    ~ Whole grain crackers

~ Whole grain waffles like - berry-flax waffles

~ Snack on healthy things like: nuts (1/4 cup) seeds, fruits/berries, veggies with hummus, whole grain crackers with cheese or hummus or tuna/low-fat dressing, frozen grapes, frozen banana slices, small whole wheat pita with hummus, small whole grain tortilla with almond or peanut butter & jam or cream cheese & jam or honey & cinnamon, apple slices & almond butter, all natural fat free popcorn, nonfat yogurt with things like healthy cereal, berries/fruit, cottage cheese + fruit, buckwheat/whole grain pancake or waffle, some dried fruit like mango strips/blueberries/cranberries instead of candy, strawberries with vanilla nonfat greek yogurt to dip, etc...Homemade smoothies :) Using fruit/berries of your choice with skim milk or non-dairy milk with nonfat yogurt, you can also add 1 - 2 tbsp ground flax seed. You can make a smoothie with water & ice to.

Haha well I'm American so I don't know exactly what 73 kgs is equal to, but anywho... I found the most effective was just stop eating when you're full. It sounds obvious but most people keep eating, for some reason, even after they're full. This can be done better by eating slowly so your mind will have time to process when your stomach is full and let you know. Cardio is absolutely essential, at least twenty minutes a day. No matter how many calories you cut, you cannot safely lose weight without cardio. Also, just making healthier choices, such as eating fruit instead of greasy snacks helps. Good luck on your new healthy ways!!

and so you should; food is good! It's called the lifelong plan, and it is :

2000 calories a day: 40% carbs, lots of fruit and veg, some protein, some dairy, a little fat. treats are allowed but in moderation and not every day. And also every day you get moving doing something you enjoy.

you don't eat processed food; you learn to cook. You don't eat 'diet' food; you have semi-skimmed milk but all the rest is normal stuff just in normal quantities. You do this every day for life; if you've had too much one day, you don't stress but you don't make a habit of it.

    bon appetit!

i love food too!! you should just make sure you eat everything in moderation, and a good idea is to choose one night where you can have a desert like every friday night or something. also for the rest of your meals, you should just try and eat a lot of fruit and vegetables and protein and whole grains but if your not into that you can just aim for cutting out junk food like anything fried, and things with a lot of fat (ice cream, not too much cheese,) and sugary things. You should also try getting some gum and when you have a really big urge to eat something unhealthy, have a stick of gum.

    good luck!

Cut out the "mindless" snacking inbetween meals, and drink lots of water (Drink two glasses of water before eating dinner. This will make you feel full faster, thus keeping you from overeating).

I replaced all fluids with water, replaced white bread with healthier bread and I cut down on the snacks. Yes, I still eat desserts, chocolate and other unhealthy foods, but I don't eat as much.

This has helped me go from 85-76kg in about 3 weeks, in addition to some exercise of course, so it's definitely working :)

    Good luck to you!

For the most part I've switched to eating healthier. Great stuff like greek yogurt + blueberries + honey, chicken parmesan, salt and pepper tofu, etc.

Just cutting out all sodas makes a big difference though. You can still have your chocolate once in a while, although if you're like me sugar makes you feel bad now, hahaha.

WeightWatchers. You can eat anything and everything, it's the quantity of it that counts. Each food is assigned points depending on it's calorie and fat levels. Some foods are even point-free so if you've used up all of your points for the day and are still feeling pekish, you can still snack on a few things!

You can do it all online also, there is no need to attend meeting if you don't want to.
