Lots and lots of BSB (still a fan of them, but then listened to them too), Christina Aguilera (debut album brings back memories, but her next album after that was when I was in college), Alanis Morissette (Jagged Little Pill was the first album I bought with my own money, lol before parental advisory stickers were slapped on everything haha! I was 11! that, and that "Uninvited" song she had later on), Jewel, especially stuff from her "Pieces of You" album. My sister and I liked making up our own lyrics to Spice Girls songs (I think we made up a parody of Viva Forever to be about cows in a field after trying to imitate Mel B's voice lol!), No Doubt's "Tragic Kingdom" and "The Return of Saturn". My sister subjected me to a lot of Creed -_- at one point in time out of boredom I learned how to play a couple of their songs on guitar but nothing else became of that. Foo Fighters' "The Color and The Shape" was great too, especially songs like "Monkey Wrench". And Sarah McLachlan's "Surfacing".
I remember there were a couple of songs people would break out to randomly in class to make the teacher mad in high school. Especially things like "One Week" by Barenaked Ladies (I still sing it to make my sister mad because she hates that song lol). Nelly's "Country Grammar" was also a big hit to sing during class in school. That and that New Radicals song ("You get what you give"?) where everyone wanted to be the fat kid under the ice cream machine in the mall.
