Who else thinks all gay marriage comments should move to the gay/lesbian section?

These comments are ridiculous and very tedious. Please quit asking them in here. This is the politics section not the tell me what you think is morally correct section.

Update:

@ just like: There was specifically a clause that allows a church to be exempt from having to preform the ceremony if it is against their belief. FAIL.

Update 2:

@ samantha: I am not trying to limit your free speech, more direct it to the appropriate forum. I have read your questions. You are opposed to gay marriage on a moral basis. This is not the place for your religious beliefs.

Update 3:

@justlike: Marriage is not a religious institution, it is a financial institution.

Update 4:

@justlike: So the government was along all these years telling me I could only marry a man and what a marriage is is completely up to my definition of the word? Exactly!

I agree that the government is overstepping their bounds by being involved in the marriage issue (also abortion) but it is a financial as well as cultural issue. Health benefits, inheritance, debt...

So you think that violating the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution is not a political issue? Because that's what is happening with the federal government defining/interpreting a religious institution.

EDIT: That does not mean that marriage is a government institution. The fed is still violating the Constitution by saying what marriage is/isn't. It would be the exact same if the government decided what bar mitzvahs are or what baptisms are. It's illegal. Marriage has never been a government institution under any society. The fail is on you.

EDIT2: Wrong again. Financial institutions are businesses. Marriage is a societal/cultural institution and since religion IS cultural, it still violates the 1st Amendment. Once again, no matter how you look at it, the government is overstepping its bounds by getting involved with marriage at all.

EDIT3: The government is wrong by having anything to do with marriage altogether. Marriage is a one man and one woman because that's what it is, that's what it has always been, and that's how it is defined by all major religions in our country. You don't have a right to marriage either, the first 10 Amendments in the US Constitution are your rights. Anything else is a privilege.

As far as health benefits, I'm all for those being canceled. The divorce rate is so high anyways, there's little point to it. Insurance however as private businesses can do whatever they want regarding marriage.

Gay rights IS a political issue and most respondents in the LGBT section are gay so posting Qs for discussion would be preaching to the choir so no I do not agree with you

If people are going to discuss it's politcal bearing then fine. If they wanna discuss a morality issue, then yes I agree, they should move. Morality does not, or at least should not, apply in legal disputes.

Not ALL of them, just the snarky ones.

Ok, ok, that's all the ones that have been posted so far, but someone MIGHT come up with a legitimate one.
