How can I remove the ethanol from a couple gallons of gas?

    It is true that ethanol will cause carburetors on small engines to corrode. The reason is that small engine equipment sits for long periods without being used. Stihl is supplying gasoline that has no ethanol in it. Check with your local Stihl chain saw dealer.

    Who told you that, and what were they drinking or smoking at the time? I've had a lot of dealings with various small carbs, and never once had an issue using unleaded fuel straight from the pump (well, via a petrol can, anyway)!
