How to disable spelling autocorrect feature in MS words?

Hi, I'm Indonesian and usually type in my national language. Few months ago, however, a message popped and asked if I would use spanish checker (or so i think,. i don't remember it exactly), and i ignorantly click Yes. Since then, when typing I often find some words automatically changed into the other ones i don't recognize. It gets very annoying. I've tried to click some commands but doesn't seem to solve the problem.

Can anybody tell me how to disable or uninstall this checker permanently? Thanks so much.

The MS Word spell checker doesn't make corrections, however, the AutoCorrect feature Replace Text as you Type does.

But I would suggest you switch back to Indonesian, this way:

In versions of Word prior to Word 2007:

    1. Click the Tools->Language->Set Language menu item.

    2. Find Indonesian in the list box and select it.

    3. Click the Default button. This sets it for more than the current document.

    4. Click OK.

    In Word 2007 and 2010:

    1. Click the Review tab on the Ribbon.

    2. Click the Set Language button.

    3. Continue as in Step 2, above.

    Hope that helps.
