bicycle rear hub replacement?

hi. are all bicycle rear hub replacements compatible? I mean as long as they are for 7 gears and non-disc brake, will be just be fine and workable to find any brand as a replacement?

It would be cheaper to just buy a new wheel.

to replace the hub you need to rebuild the whole wheel

just buying one would be as cheap

[[also i am guessing you have a semi crappy wheel to begin with]]

and no they aren;t all the same

    hubs or wheels

    can be cassette or freewheel

    axle length can be different

different gears may need diff chain length

    dishing may be wrong

quick release would also possibly need a skewer

maybe go to a bike shop if you don;t know what you are doing
