What's with the new yahoo beta 11 archive format?

In my opinion.. it sucks. I really preferred the old archive format better. Basically.. There is no categorizing, which idk how that's better, because it's harder to find things since everything is scattered. All your contact messages show on the same screen... and what's even worse is that you can't see the message as a whole anymore, it's all pieced up. & also, since it's different from the old yahoo format, the archives you previously had no longer exist.. i mean, i'd like to see my past archives and find them easier D: what has yahoo beta 11 done to me!!!! This is the only thing i have a problem with, this horrible new archive format...

Anyways. my question is... are they planning to fix this? What's going on, i hope they don't leave it like it is... I really do rather the old archive format where the contacts were grouped separately and their messages went by day instead of every few minutes...

Also, what does everyone else think about this? Yahoo beta 11 seems great but, this archive format has got to change...

I agree with you on this. I'm not fond of the way the archives are stored they are all over the place and it's hard to find what you're looking for. I found the best way to access archives is to right click on the contacts name then select Conversation History, this way only the history for you and that contact will load and you don't have to look at all of the other contacts names in chat history, so it's easier to find what you're looking for.

If you want to ask a Yahoo Rep your questions about archiving you can. With version 11 there are power user benefits and one of those benefits is having access to Yahoo customer care 24/7 through IMs. To do this sign into messenger, on the messenger window where your display pic is/would be click on it, select power user benefits. Your browser will open and take you to the power user benefits page. Near the bottom of the page there is an area where you can IM customer care to ask them questions and get answers within seconds, maybe if enough people complain about the new server side archiving they'll do something to improve it

I found this where you can send feed back to Yahoo regarding Messenger. Just indicate that your feedback is for Yahoo! Messenger Beta 11.
