Tattoo on finger? Fading, pain, etc question....?
Hi all,
So I plan on getting a tattoo on the right side of my left ring finger (where a wedding ring goes), it's going to say 'born this way' mainly because Lady Gaga taught me that this is who I am, and I need to love myself because I was 'born this way.' I want it on my ring finger because that's where the wedding ring goes and a wedding ring is a profession of love, and through Born This Way I learned to love myself....sorry for the long and possibly repetitive explanation, I just want you all to try and understand what the record and Lady Gaga have done, how much they have really helped me, how dark of a place they pulled me from.
SO, my questions consist of what kind of pain will there be (I have an above average pain tolerance I'd say), how quickly will it fade (will it) and what kind of cost am I looking at?
Thank you!!!
And haters, y'all can hate, just not here.

A great idea, but you might want to consider a different location? Just a thought. Maybe an image that goes well with those words to go elsewhere on the body?
I have a friend who had her wedding ring tattooed on. She said it wasn't bad. It was like a shallow paper cut. She got it 2 years ago and it's started to smudge already. They never fully fade but do smudge bad. You'll have an awful green mark there in the end (like something you've tried to erase but won't go fully away).
Cost will be AT LEAST $60 just to get all the ink and needles set up. From there it depends on the artist. Probably no more than $100-$150. You can always go in and get a quote though.
Don't expect the quality of the tattoo to be very good, no matter where you get it, simply because that's a difficult location to get the tattoo gun.

I think that's a great idea and I support you on that completely, lady gaga is so mmm.
As far as pain the worst spot you can get it your foot, which I have both feet done, and to be honest it wasn't unbearable, so you can do it, plus it shouldn't take longer than 30 min.
Cost really depends on the shop your going to and what font and how big you want it. You may be disappointed that you can't really get it as little as you might want because, if you get small writing, in time the ink will set in your skin and become just a big blob. I would assume the price wouldn't run you over 100 $ maybe 60$ the cheapest. Also, as far as fading it is hard to say, I have mine on my feet and it rubs against my shoes ALL the time, and it's been a year and no difference, so I mean stay away from rings obviously on that finger to avoid rubbing away.

I think it would hurt a lot actually... not just because of the fact that tattoos on a boney spot hurt, but also because of the position you will have to keep your finger while it's getting tattooed. It would definitely fade because of the fact that in between your fingers is a high friction area. I absolutely love this tattoo idea and the meaning behind it, but I'm not so sure it would work out in the end. It's up to you though! As for price, it all depends on the shop.

Thats a cool idea
it shouldnt fade , just keep it out of the sun till it heals, and make sure you put amd ointment on it
its a small tat so he should be going over it good with the gun.
specify to him that you dont want it to fade, hell put more ink in it.
i have "optimist" written on my wrist and it cost 70 bucks, with tip. i say your looking at between 70-100 including tip. you at least wanna throw him/her 20 bucks,
its just a respect thing.
