Team Fortress 2 stuck at "Retrieving Server info...please wait" ?

Question

i installed yesterday, played, it was all working

this morning, when i'm at the part where you choose the mode (capture the flag, payload, etc) its stuck on "retrieving server info"

shop, options, offline mode all WORKS though...

using windows 7, 4 GB RAM, DSL connection (shouldn't matter though, the game was working yesterday)

go to  steam/ config folder and enter in Master Server in Notepad, replace everything with this

This happens to me too, I'm playing on a Mac but the servers are identical. In my experience after about one minutes stuck there it doesn't go anywhere else so just try another server. Keep trying until you get one, just be patient!

Same exact thing just started happening to me about 30-60 minutes ago, maybe a bit later.
 
 I was in the middle of a game and suddenly disconnected and been having this issue since... Could everybody be possibly having this issue?

I'm having the same problem hahahaa. it's weird. I think the servers are just down due to extreme amounts of people on. It's night time for me and a lot of people usually go on at night.

Exactly my problem. Worked half an hour ago, now it won't even let me pick a gametype. VAC is still in good standing.
