I presume you are speaking of the pet African hedgehogs kept mainly in the Americas. If so, a good veterinary shampoo is far preferable to shampoos made for humans. Here at our rescue we have used Veterinarian's Best Hypoallergenic Dog/Puppy/Cat/Kitten Shampoo with Aloe Vera for over 12 years with excellent results. It can be purchased at the large pet supply chains (Petco, Petsmart). If we are also dealing with mites, after the shampoo, we submerge the hedgehog in a small tub containing lukewarm water and about 9 tablespoons of olive oil for one second, and then pour out the hedgehog and the oily water into a stoppered sink, where the hedgehog unrolls and gets covered underneath with the oily water. This will provide immediate relief as the oily water will kill all of the living mites (additional medications are needed to get rid of the hatching mite eggs). After the bath, dry off the hedgehog and be sure to keep her/him warm until completely dry. If you use the olive oil treatment, the hedgehog will smell like a caesar salad for about a week.

PLEASE NOTE: You closed your question about feeding insects before we had a chance to respond (Please try not to close questions too early). Although they are classified as insectivores, they are actually opportunistic feeders and do very well on a good quality cat food. We have taken long term care of 320 hedgehogs here at the rescue over the last 15 years and have never fed insects. Our veterinarians recommend and our hedgehogs like Royal Canin dry cat food and we most often use their Babycat 34 for youngsters and small hedgehogs, a mixture of Kitten 36 and Selective 34/29 for average weight hedgehogs, and Indoor 40 for those hedgehogs needing to lose weight. Hope this helps.

I'd be more worried about they're running shoes.

Edit: Joke aside, why would you need to know? is it even possible to have a pet hedgehog?
