Stuffing!...one not so overpowering?

I love a bit of Paxo Sage & Onion stuffing on my sunday dinner.

But my missus always complains that she's not one for very herby tastes, and she finds the taste of stuffing a bit overpowering.

What kind of stuffing can i get which has a bit more toned down taste? (but still delicious)

If you like paxo but your wife complains about the herby taste being overly strong, it's probably the amount of sage in it that's two much.

You could pad it out with things that she likes, celery and a mild onion diced and boiled, chopped walnuts or pecans, bread baked for 7 minutes on the highest setting and crushed.

If you save the stock from vegetables that have been boiled, you can use that in the boiling rather than just water. If you don't like the resulting texture, use a little olive oil or rapeseed oil for binding.

Mix it all in with the Paxo, using a smaller quantity of this.

Other possibilities are pre-prepared soya meat substitutes, or ground meats, and egg can be used if you want it to be bound more. Mild spices can be used as well.

If you were making you own, you could use garlic or chives or or mint or chilli or mustard or cinnamon or some combination in small quantities according to taste instead of sage, but sage should be fine if there's just less of it in the mixture overall. Personally I usually like a little black pepper in cooking as well.

try stuffing balls instead as you still get the taste but more digestable or try other flavours of stuffing like winter herbs, cranberry etc. Experiment with them all.

i have to agree with your wife. it tastes like vomit to me. ugh. try a sausagemeat with cranberries or apricots, waitrose or sainsbury normally have a different range.
