is it REALLY true that guys like you when they tease you?

kind of like the saying when a little boy teases you, he likes you. but this guy who i have had inappropriate history with, he bugs me when we at camp in person. around his friend he would always say my name and talk to other people about me in a goofy way. he acts not like a friend or an ex but he would tease me, squirt water at me and throw a water balloon at me yet he stared at me a lot. he never smiled right at me. (keep in mind he used to think I was way clingy and he is 17 and I am 15).

he eventually admitted that he teases me because it's fun and I always smile and don't get mad.

the worst part is that I still like him when I know that when he REALLY likes someone he asks to hang out and he gets polite and intimate. so what am I to him?? thanks so much!
