Why is Jay-z so overhated in this section?

Everyone is overhated in this section . You get thumbs down over anything you say . Watch i will get some. Music is about opinion , personal tastes and what appeals to you . So everyone here will disagree in one way or another and they thumb you down if you have a different opinion

Jay-Z's alright, but he's not THAT great. For every 2 or 3 good songs he makes, he has 10 average ones. He's lucky enough to have great beats 90% of the time, and that's the only reason a lot of his albums are considered classics. His lyrics were great on Reasonable Doubt, but they've been average after that.

Why is he so overhated? Well, whenever someone's popularity and record sales exceed their talent and skills, they gain a lot of haters (i.e. Lil Wayne, Eminem, etc.). It doesn't mean they're not good rappers, it means they're not as good as their rep and record sales would lead you to believe. There are much better, more skilled, rappers who don't have the budget to market themselves the same way they do, and MTV and BET only count record sales so their opinions are useless. You might as well look up who sold the most instead of wasting your time watching those shows and lists.

Now that I saw the actual list, I would say their Honorable Mentions might be better than their Top 10, and everyone in their Honorable Mentions list except for Snoop is better than Jay-Z.

I don't hate Jay-Z, but I don't like his new music. All his albums after The Black Album were either mediocre or bad. I'd never put him Number 1 no matter what cause Rakim, Nas, Black Thought, Biggie, Big L (Jay-Z never gives him credit for helping to launch his career), GZA, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck and Raekwon are all lyrically superior to Jay-Z. He's probably number one because he's very rich.

Jay z lyrics are brillant, but people hate because of his voice. People hate on him because they only listening to beats instead of understanding the lyrics. His lyrics are genius and brillant. He knows how to shape an album. If you don't believe me listen to Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint. Those 2 is were his lyrics were in full swing.

No idea. I think he's dope as hell. All the •prep for td• Nas stans can't accept that he's 20 times more successful than Nas. Nas, what a ****** stupid name, I hate saying it NOSS.

1. People don't like people who have more money than them and he has Beyonce as his wife thus making them jealous.

2. Generally don't like his style. His music is not their taste.

3. They're just haters.

Those are the main reasons why people don't like Jay-Z.
