I would use a name brand (Pennzoil) 10W-40 or 20W--50. Change every 3000 to 4000 miles with a Fram, motorcraft, or AC Filter. If you find it using a quart of oil at 1500 miles, then add 1 qt and change aat 3000, if it is using a quart at 2000+ then add 1 qt at 2000+ and change at 4000. 280,xxx is a lot of miles for an 06, i assume they are mostly highway which is a agoodthing.

Use a high mileage brand name oil. Today's oils are technology advanced for almost every type of car and condition. Stay away from a full synthetic oil, they tend to find and make leaks on older engines.

    good luck.....
