what video card should i look for?
My current video card was a FX8600GT 256M...it came with the late 2007 computer...it doesnt work anymore.
my receipt list says my motherboard is a GBT s775 P35 DDR-2 GA-P35 if that helps.
the computer is Intel Q6600 2.4 s775 SLACRX
what kind of new Video Card can i get that i can just plug in?

looks like the power supply is 400watts

i havent looked at the label on the actual power supply yet.

The ATi Radeon HD 5670 and 6670 or the Nvidia GeForce GT 430 or 440 only use a little bit more power than the 8600, so they should work on your existing power supply. They also perform significantly better.
If you want something more powerful than the cards I listed you may need a new power supply too.
Added: Yeah 400 watts is what I expected. So if you want higher than GT 440 or Radeon 6670 you definitely need a different power supply, but like I said those cards are more powerful than the 8600 so if you aren't interested in playing new computer games you're fine.

Does your motherboard accept PCI Express or AGP graphics card is very important to know this before upgrading.
