I watched several of her music videos and I have no idea why she's famous and makes money.

The beats in her songs were not made by her. She has been sampled in other peoples' songs too but as far as I can tell she didn't write anything except maybe her own lyrics, which any 12 year-old could have written.

She isn't extraordinarily attractive. Yeah she's pretty but not to the point of being able to get famous just because of her looks.

Most of the time she just talks, and sometimes she sorta sings but it's so autotuned that she could be completely tonedeaf for all we know.

I've never seen her actually dance in any of her videos. I've seen her stand there and flash a lot of different outfits, I've seen her stand against a wall and thrust her boobs out, but I haven't seen her do much else.

So... what can she do that any random 20something fairly pretty girl can't do? I just want to know.

Conservatives won't listen to a thing the liberals say, and liberals won't listen to a thing the conservatives say. I see it everywhere, including right here on Y!A. Even the ridiculous stuff that is obviously not true, like "Obama is a MUSLIM TERRORIST" or "BUSH WAS A NAZI". It's the whole reason our entire country is going into the crapper.

So, I think I know what the answer is - if you want a conservative to hear something, make sure a conservative says it and if you want a liberal to hear something make sure a liberal says it. But that's not going to work. So are you all going to continue to just destroy our country by regurgitating the same lies and made-up talking points or can you actually educate yourself a little so that your kids might not live in the crumbling ruins of our fallen empire?

I made a mashup and I want to make my friends listen to it. I know that I can post the song on playlist.com and post the link on facebook, but it needs to be uploaded somewhere for that to work. Where can I upload the song so I can have a direct link to it? I've found websites that allow you to upload the file so other people can download it but that's not what I'm looking for.

PIN number, ATM machine, and other related acronym misuses. You just said "personal identification number number" and "automatic teller machine machine."

"5 times smaller than. . ." or "3 times larger than. . ." We don't measure how SMALL things are, so saying something has 5 times as much smallness makes no sense. Similarly, you're saying "3 times larger" instead of "3 times as large" so does that mean it's larger 3 times over, making it 4 times as large?

"Where is the phone at?" You could say "Where is the phone?" and it would mean exactly the same thing at.

I've never used fresh ginger before and I saw it in a recipe, so I cut it into thin strips like the recipe said and now I'm simmering it. I wanted to see what fresh ginger tastes like so I ate a piece of it and it caught me off guard lol. So anyhow, I'm cooking for my boyfriend and he likes food that's a little spicy but his tolerance is low. Will the ginger eventually mellow out a little and not be so pungent and spicy?

My air conditioner has a thermostat apparently, but the control doesn't let you pick a temperature. It just says "Cool" "Cooler" and "Coolest". It's set on coolest, but the condenser doesn't stay on all the time even when it's hot in my room. Today is the hottest day this year so far and my condenser won't stay on long enough to get the room below 80 (which is still hot for me especially with the humidity). The thermostat, being inside the air conditioner, must think it's cooler than it really is.

This is a serious question about a real problem that has a real impact on my life. I asked a similar question yesterday and only got 1 answer, basically mocking me.

Anyhow, I've been extremely ticklish for as long as I can remember. I have been trying to find information about it and all I've been able to learn is that it's called "hypergargalesthesia" but the only reason that helps at all is because I realize now that it's not just me. I think I might have one of the more severe cases of it though.

Literally anywhere on my body can be ticklish, and I've lost friends because they discovered how ticklish I am and thought it was funny so they tickled me randomly. I know some people seem to really like being tickled, even to the point of it being a fetish, but I assure you I don't enjoy it at all. I hate it.

I'm in a long-term relationship and cuddling is difficult because I'm so easy to accidentally tickle. Sometimes it even kinda gets in the way of... other stuff...

It even effects me in conversation. If someone talks into my ear, like they're sitting next to me and they look at me when they talk and I'm facing forward, it tickles my ear. This can be annoying when I'm watching movies or TV with someone or driving when someone is in the passenger seat.

The biggest problem is that other people generally don't understand my problem. If someone is in the habit of looking at someone they are talking to it's hard for them to remember not to do it, and if I ask them not to they generally act like I'm just crazy.

Is there anything I can do? Is there a treatment, a pill, anything?

Some people have a hard time remembering not to look at me while they're talking and I'm driving. I have the same problem when someone overenunciates certain consonants, like P, B, T, and S.

Ok so I'm a little screwed up I know but is there a way to treat this? Can I take pills for it?

Sorry, just blowing off steam... this isn't a real question.

I've been analyzing my life a lot lately and I've come to the conclusion that many of my problems are related to a single unfulfilled need - intellectual discussion and/or debate.

As a matter of fact, much of the reason I spend so much time here on YA is because it allows me to express intelligent thoughts (to an extent... I mean it is what it is) but it isn't enough. I need to engage in a two-way dialog with people.

Now to narrow it down a little, I can't download YIM (it's complicated and stupid but I can't) and I don't really know anyone in person. A browser-based chatroom would be ideal but I don't know where to find one (well... where to find one that isn't adults only if you know what I mean),

Help me!

If yes, how would you go about doing that? Don't say anything about biblical references or Adam and Eve, that isn't anthropology, it's theology.

If no, why would someone try?

If I wanted to upgrade my processor (and motherboard as needed) every other time Intel released a new series, which would be better?

A) Sandy Bridge, Haswell, SkyLake

or

B) Ivy Bridge, Broadwell, SkyMont

or should I give Intel the finger and get a Zambezi?

I'm pretty adept at computer hardware but I can't figure this out. A few weeks ago my sound stopped working. I don't think anything odd happened around the time it stopped working, and I didn't do anything I don't normally do. There was a Windows update I think, but I don't see that being the cause right? Here's what I've tried so far:

1- I made sure the sound wasn't muted and all of the other obvious stuff like that.

2- I made sure the speakers worked on another computer, they do.

3- I downloaded and installed all the latest drivers for my motherboard.

4- I opened up my case and looked for visible signs of damage

5- I opened a program that shows a bar that bounces up and down to show volume to see if my computer knew it was supposed to be making noise - it does, the bar jumped around.

6- I checked every audio out. That's when I discovered that the front headphone jack works, so I made due with it for a while until I ordered a dedicated audio card.

7- I installed the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy today - basic PCI sound card. Yes I installed the software that comes with it, yes my computer knows the sound card is there. It doesn't work.

8- I opened the SB diagnostic tool thingy and it said "The audio device supported by this application may not be present or may be operating in an unsupported mode"

9- I moved the card to a different PCI slot - got the same results.

10- I got on Yahoo Answers because I'm officially out of ideas.

I like science and I periodically stray into the science categories to read answers and maybe provide some. However, 50% of the questions I see have at least 1 person quoting from the bible as their answer.

Should I go to the Christianity section and start quoting Newton, Einstein, and Darwin to answer their religious questions?

Nerd, thigh, strangle.

The little bars that show sound output on all of my music editing programs, as well as the Windows 7 volume control, all bounce around as if sound should be coming out, so I tried different speakers and headphones and still no sound. The speakers and headphones all work on other things like my MP3 player and my laptop, just not my desktop. I opened the side of the computer and I can't see anything wrong with the i/o panel where it's attached to the motherboard, and it worked this morning just fine and I haven't changed any settings.

Help?

A long time ago, I could drink coffee and have more energy. Now I drink coffee so I can function. I'm physically dependent on it. I'm on about 12 cups of coffee a day now, it takes 6 cups just to prevent a terrible headache. I know it's bad for me, but if I go off the stuff will I feel like I have energy again eventually or will I have to adjust to having less energy? I don't remember how much energy I had before I started drinking coffee every day, I was 16 then and now I'm 27. I know I won't have as much energy as I did at 16.

This is not for a gaming build, this is for my own personal 3ds max render farm, so the processor is going to be the bottleneck no matter how much power they have. The i7 and Xeon both use the LGA1366 socket, and the i7 990X is the same price as the Xeon L5640. The Xeon and the i7 have are both 6 cores, the i7 is 3.46Ghz and the Xeon is 2.26Ghz, the Xeon doesn't seem to have an L2 cache and it's 60W, the i7 is 130W, I already checked and the motherboard will support the i7.

So what I'm wondering is this - are the Xeon processors designed better for dual CPU configurations, and this is why the slower Xeon is the same price as the faster i7? Would 2 Xeons render faster or slower than 2 i7s?
