Why are deleted questions allowed to remain visible?

If one looks at the oldest questions with the fewest answers, they actually turn out to have been deleted?

If they have been censored why are they allowed to remain?

I would prefer it if they were shown as deleted and the reason for the deletion being given - that seems to support the notion of 'free speech' in an 'open society'?

Considering that Y!A has never really specified why two of my questions were deleted I really do not think "free speech as a right" is one of Y!A guidelines.

    I don't know why.
