Can buried US currency rot if buried in the yard?

If I were to bury 100 $1 in the yard, how long before it rots or goes bad? Will it go bad?

It is against the law. The same as you burn it in front of your house. The government has pay the cost of printing it with our tax money. And you're gonna rod it.It's a shame.

Put it in a zinc lidded mason jar in the winter, outside. Bring it in and dip the whole top in paraffin. The result ought to be something that can stay buried quite a while without rotting.

There is another way - take a hundred Sac dollars and put that in a baggy, and it ought to be fine. The baggy will disintegrate after a while, but the coins will outlast you.
