How do you install a floating hardwood floor that snaps together?

I was given some hardwood floors with the padding already underneath and I'm trying to figure out what is the easiest way to install them. The look like they snap together but I'm not sure. So far what I've read online is that you have to glue them in place once they snap??? I've tried snapping them in place and all it does is moves or the planks don't go together. Suggestions?

Once you have the flooring in place tap the front with a mallet and push down. You can also use the mallet to set it down. No glue necessary, spacers are required to prevent flooring from moving during installation. Oh, they're also for expansion gaps.

You may need a floor puller and tapping block also, if your flooring does not have a snap ring on the end. Flooring with plastic snap rings on the end are the easiest to install. You will pay a price for this feature.

Do use 6 mil plastic under your flooring.

Have a hard time locking the first 2 rows together?

Use your body weight to hold one row in place, start with pieces ranging from 36 to 48". Stagger the joints half the length. After that you can install the flooring regularly.

There is a tool that you use to snap them together. Not sure what it is called, but know it takes the use of a rubber mallet.
