iphone4 vs. Droid Charge - on Verizon?

My husband has to get a new phone for work. He currently uses a 3 year old blackberry, but now has to upgrade. We've narrowed it down to 2 choices - the iphone4 or the Droid Charge - on the Verizon network. I have an iphone4 - so we know what to expect with that. Money is not an issue since work pays for everything. He's a doctor and would use some medical apps, but mostly it will be phone calls, texts, emails and some internet browsing. He really doesn't use his phone much for "play" - music, streaming video, etc - just basic internet usage and probably a couple of simple games.

The pros of the Charge seem to be an incredible screen that is also quite large. You can also customize it, if that really matters. The cons seem to be a terrible battery, an awkward shape and durability (it's made of plastic). Plus it's rather large - bad to carry on belt, but good for me cause their fingers tend to be larger.

So is the battery life on the Charge as bad as I've read during reviews? Frankly if the battery is as bad as I've read about that's a BIG problem. Anyone who uses their phone primarily for work have a preference one over the other?

Honestly this is a battle of preference, meaning if you want a really good display and a pretty good gaming phone I'd say Droid Charge. If you are for business I'd say iPhone 4, simply iPhone 4 is a business/multitasking phone perfect for business. I own the Droid Charge and I have had no problems out of my battery. I've had it since it came out, and I only charge it once a day. I go to work at 5am and get off at 4pm and my battery is only at 72%. Of course like any phone some people may have the brightness over 50% which will kill any phone in a matter of hours even on standby. So my judgement would have to be do you want a pretty and big screen or do you want a business orientated multitasking phone. Since its sounds like he's in business I'm going to hand it to iPhone. Hope I helped have a good day.

Actually, a number of customers in their reviews have said the battery isn't too bad, especially compared to other 4G phones. If your husband wants a really fast network and a phone with some really great features like the display (as you mentioned) and 8 megapixel camera, the Charge is a great choice.

I too am in the medical field. Depending on the type of apps you're looking for might help you in your decision. I just recently switched from the droid incredible. I absolutely loved my phone but found it too cumbersome having to carry both an itouch and my phone when in the hospital. The droid has some apps but it's not as extensive when talking about medical resources. A lot of the droid apps were for personal medical use such as diet calculators or OTC meds. I was able to find drug books most commonly found at a nursing station as well as other resources specific to a disease process or body system.

I hope this helps you in your decision.

The Apple iPhone 4's camera is one of its feature attractions. We've got a 5-megapixel 720p HD CMOS image sensor with 1.75-micron BSI pixel architecture geared to improve low-light sensitivity.

The Droid Charge is supercharged with a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 512MB of RAM, Android 2.2, and TouchWiz for an interface. Keep in mind that an Android 2.3 Gingerbread upgrade will be available down the road.

The iPhone 4. The Apple App Store has more apps and more easier to find them. The iPhone is the #1 phone in the world and iOS 5 is more functional and easier and not as confusing as Gingerbread. And unless you live in a big city most likely 4G LTE wont be available where you live so it would be pretty much useless.

Yes, you are right, the droid charge battery life wears out, according to PCWorld. But the 4g LTE service and super amo led display beats the iphone.
